On Saturday, November 18 a fierce team chess event was taking place at Colonel Gray Senior High School between Team Nova Scotia, Team New Brunswick and Team Prince Edward Island.
It all came down to the final game being played between Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. Nova Scotia won the final game and clinched the first place win by half a point!
Nova Scotia scored 64 points, winning the 2023 Maritime Team Championship. New Brunswick scored 63.5 points for second place. Prince Edward Island finished third with 16 points.
Special recognition to all of the individual trophy champions this year:
Colin Wang, Nova Scotia won the K – 3 section with 3/4 points.
Calix Marchand, Nova Scotia won the 4 – 6 section with 4/4 points.
Gabriel Gingras, New Brunswick won the 7 – 9 section with 4/4 points.
Titan Dunahee, New Brunswick won the 10 – 12 section with 4/4 points.
