Maritime Team Championship

The Maritime Team Championship Qualifying Tournament happens in the October to November timeframe each year. This tournament is used to pick Team Nova Scotia, who will compete against PEI and New Brunswick in the annual tournament.

This tournament is unique in a few ways. Players will compete in sections according to their grade level – Grade P-3, Grade 4 – 6, Jr. High and Sr. High. From each group, players will qualify to play for Team NS. The following number of players qualify – Grade P-3 (top 6), Grade 4 – 6 (top 8), Jr. High (top 6) and Sr High (top 4).

As a member of Team NS, the players will be awarded medals at the Maritime Team Championship, to be held on a Saturday in late November in one of the three provinces.

This tournament is a great opportunity for both established and newer players to compete in a tournament environment. Unlike the Provincials, players do not need to win their section to advance and many players will be able to qualify and play for their province in a very fun event.

Also, players will play against their peers at their grade category level and if they advance, will do the same in the Maritime Team Tournament and also be paired against players of equal ability.
