NSSCA is currently seeking volunteers to help with organizing and running chess tournaments. Tournaments are usually held on Sundays from 12:00 to 5:00 pm at locations around Halifax.
Adults, seniors, and high school students above the age of 16 are encouraged to apply. Expertise in the game of chess in not necessary.
Volunteer roles include but are not limited to:
1. Registration – Filling forms, name tags, handling cash.
2. Set up & clean up – Posting signage & result sheets, setting up & clean up after tournaments.
3. Tournament assistance- Scoring & assisting Tournament Director.
We also encourage youth who come to our tournaments to help with set-up, take down and registration. Volunteer hours will be tracked, and youth will be recognized for their contributions at the end of the year. References can be provided, if needed
