Back by popular demand and in response to requests for chess education opportunities, we are restarting the Chess Knights program in Halifax, a chess education and play opportunity geared towards intermediate players. Chess Knights program will now offer a weekly session on Tuesdays from 7 pm to 9pm. First session is September 19th and the sessions will run till December 12th, 2023 (No session on October 31st).
We are fortunate to have chess expert Juan Ramirez-Orta to lead the sessions. Juan is an experienced chess player with a rating of 2049 and over 20-year chess playing experience. Juan is also the founder of the Halifax Chess Club.
The program will offer a lesson where you can learn tactics and strategies followed by over the board play. You will also get an opportunity to work through puzzles, play in blitz tournaments, simultaneous games, and bughouse!
Cost: $60 for all 12 fall sessions.
Drop in for one session- $10 (only if spaces are left).
Pre-registration is recommended.

Chess Knights program is open to all ages but geared towards intermediate players who are looking to improve their game. Basic knowledge of chess is required. Please see attached poster.
