Canadian Chess Challenge

The Nova Scotia Provincial Chess Challenge is the tournament that leads up to the Canadian Chess Challenge(CCC), which is the National Scholastic Chess Championship. The CCC is organized by the Chess n’ Math Association. Students compete against other players in the same school grade, from across Canada. The Nova Scotia Provincial Chess Challenge is on the first Sunday of March in Halifax. The twelve winners at the provincial tournament advance to the CCC on Victoria Day weekend. The location of the CCC changes every year (Toronto in 2009, Montreal in 2010, Victoria in 2011, Halifax in 2012, Ottawa in 2013, Winnipeg in 2014 and will be held in Quebec City for 2015). The NSSCA raises funds to help with our team’s travel expenses.

2012 was the first time Nova Scotia ever held the Canadian Chess Challenge! For more information on this event, please visit the Canadian Chess Challenge 2012 website.
